Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan will start non-formal Sanskrit education in the schools all over the country.
Sanskrit education at the school level ia all the more important because it serves the feeding cadre to the colleges and universities.
Also the impression of Sanskrit education at the age of School education will have greater impact on the minds of students to mould their character and conduct. While steps for developing formal Sanskrit learning in the schools are to be taken widely and seriously, there is an urgent need of conducting non-formal Sanskrit education. Sansthan
has designed five level Sanskrit learning programme.

– I :
Study

This helps to learn Devnagari
script.

Vakyavistarah and Glossary of words).
At
this level efforts are made to make the students speak a few sentences
which are useful in day to day context and also write Samskrit
through Devanagari script. It takes care
of elementary skill in learning Samskrit.
Level
– II
: At
this level emphasis is given to make the students able to express all
important ideas related to the world around and to improve his
capacity to express slightly complicated expressions.
Level
– III
: At
this level attention is paid to improve the language learning skills
towards greater perfection and to lead them to understand simple
literary forms.
Level
-
IV: At
this level students are
taught to write literary Samskrit
and idioms of literary expressions.
Level
– V
:
At this level attempt is
made to increase the abilities of students in understanding and
expressing spoken as well as literary Samskrit
from all its aspects. The students are expected to be thoroughly
equipped to understand the Samskrit
literature and other books with the help of commentaries at the end of
this level.
