Vision
To establish Central Sanskrit University as a Global Centre for Quality Sanskrit Education under the aegis of ‘Bharata’ as ‘Vishwaguru’.
Mission
- To facilitate the development of quality programmes and services for international students.
- To facilitate the processes of counselling, admission, learning, assessment and evaluation for the international students.
- To promote the mobility of students, researchers and faculties for collaborative teaching-learning, research, publications and other activities as the approval of the university.
- To establish the links among Indian universities, mentor agencies, and foreign universities for effective collaboration in teaching-learning, research and publications in Sanskrit.
- To collaborate with government and non-government funding agencies and institutes for international scholarship, research, and publications.
Core Functions
- To address all the matters and issues concerned with Indian and foreign students and faculties associated to Central Sanskrit University, its campuses, and affiliated institutions under collaborative programmes.
- To address and entertain all the matters related to Indian/Foreign students proceeding abroad to foreign institutions/incoming to Central Sanskrit University, its campuses, affiliated research institutes under collaborative activities.
- To approach and engage the identified universities for a meaningful dialogue & initiating discussion for bilateral cooperation.
- To engage in promotional activities and brand building campaign in India & abroad.
- To facilitate the finalization and signing of MoUs with Indian and International organizations i.e., educational Institutions & universities for Internationalisation of Sanskrit Education and maintain records for the same.
- To identify thrust areas and concerns of collaboration with the identified International Organization, Universities, and Institutions.
- To liaise with regulatory/statutory bodies i.e., Board of Deans, Academic Council etc.
- To maintain all concerned records and disseminate information related to international affairs and collaborations.
- To work as coordinating Office with all Indian and foreign students, and faculties registered under collaborative programmes.
- To work as the nodal agency for foreign students and coordinate all matters relating to welcoming and supporting foreign students.
About Institute
The Central Sanskrit University (CSU) has the unique distinction of being the largest and the only multi-campus language university in the world.
CSU also has the privilege of acting as the nodal agency for the implementation of Sanskrit related policies & schemes of the Government of India.
In that capacity, the university works in close coordination with the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Fully conscious of this responsibility in this regard, the Govt. of India, in pursuance of the recommendations of the Sanskrit Commission (1956-57) constituted a Central Sanskrit Board, which recommended the establishment of a Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. Accordingly, the Sansthan was established in 15th October, 1970 as an autonomous organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act XXI of 1860) for the development and promotion of Sanskrit all over the country and abroad. It is fully funded by Government of India and functioned as an apex body for propagation and development of Sanskrit.
CSU as funded by Govt. of India has been accredited 'A++' category by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). CSU is also recognised as ‘Category-1 University’ by UGC of India. The CSU provides wide range of academic programmes for teaching-learning of Sanskrit and other allied disciplines in its 13 Campuses, 4 Research Institutes, 22 Adarsha Colleges, and 100+ Affiliated Institutes.
Area of Excellence
The CSU's area of excellence is to disseminate the knowledge of Sanskrit Shastra Paramparās (traditions) to the next level of teaching-learning.
The CSU is dedicated to facilitate the learning experience by sharing and innovative methods through Simple and Standard Sanskrit Medium.
The CSU is willing to enhance the quality teaching, research and publications with collaboration of HEIs committed to promotion of the most
ancient and modern language Sanskrit.
Research Capacities and Focus Areas
The CSU has identified own priorities and thrust areas of research. The priorities and thrust areas of research need to be addressed systematically
as Research Projects, Publications, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and Manuscripts Repository. Particularly these are following are the
priorities and thrust areas, as Manuscripts Editing and Preparation of Critical Editions, Indian Knowledge Traditions and their Application,
Review of Criticism of Indian Knowledge Traditions, and Historical, Descriptive and Experimental Research.
Academic Facilities
This Multi-campus Sanskrit University is providing the academic facilities like Classrooms, Meeting Space and Conference Halls, Libraries,
Laboratories, Research Facilities, Computer Labs, Auditoriums, Sports Facilities, Language Labs, Transportation Services, Wi-Fi Connectivity
etc. to the students.
